BTS's J-Hope sends a handwritten note with a heart and flower bouquets to his parents on Parents Day while serving in the military.

# BTS's J-Hope sends 'Parents Day' message in a handwritten note

BTS member J-Hope, who is currently serving in the military as an active-duty soldier, did not forget to express his love and gratitude to his parents on the occasion of Parents Day. South Koreans celebrate Parents Day on May 8 every year, and it is a tradition to give red carnations to parents as a sign of respect and appreciation.

J-Hope shared a photo of himself holding a handmade card with a heart and flower bouquets on the website The Camp, which is a platform for soldiers and their families to communicate. He wrote a heartfelt message for his mom and dad, saying:

> Mom, dad, I’m greeting you in celebration of Parents’ Day. Thank you for giving birth to and raising me. I love you. Your son Hoseok.

The card also had a cute drawing of J-Hope's face with his signature buzzcut hairstyle. He looked happy and relaxed in his blue tracksuit and military uniform. Fans were touched by his sweet gesture and commented on how much they miss him.

J-Hope enlisted in the army on April 18 at a boot camp in Wonju, Gangwon Province. He is the second member of BTS to begin his mandatory military service, following Jin who enlisted last year. He is expected to complete his 18-month duty in October 2024.

Before his enlistment, J-Hope was one of the most active members of BTS, releasing his solo album Jack in the Box in July 2022 and collaborating with artists like Crush and J.Cole. He also performed at various events such as Lollapalooza, MAMA and Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve.

J-Hope is known for his bright personality and rap skills, as well as his dance and fashion sense. He is often called the sunshine of BTS by his fans and fellow members. He has also been involved in various charitable activities, such as donating to low-income students and supporting children with disabilities.
